HISTORY

Christian Faith Center is a church rooted in a strong spiritual heritage. Alice and Cloid Banning were farmers in Oklahoma with seven children when God spoke to them to go West and work for Him. They started a full gospel church in California in 1924. This church was prospering and touching lives when God spoke again and directed them to South Texas. Through faithfulness and obedience they founded Christian Faith Center (formerly First Assembly of God) in Millet, Texas. The church relocated in 1953 to Dilley, Texas.

In 1983 Phyllis Livesay moved to Dilley after attending Rhema Bible Training College and ministering in the Philippines, where she and her husband, Allen, started an orphanage. While in Dilley, Allen and Phyllis continued to travel to the Philippines to continue the work there.

Then in 1996 the Lord called Phyllis to pastor Christian Faith Center. Through Pastor Phyllis the Lord gave His mandate for our church and the surrounding area –

To Bring the Glory of God to South Texas.

Although she is no longer the senior pastor of CFC, Pastor Phyllis is still very much involved with the church. Her wisdom and guidance has been invaluable to our leadership and staff. While her focus is now on missions, prayer, and connecting Christian Faith Center with other ministries throughout the world, she is, and always will be, our “Queen Mother.”

Today, the church is being pastored by Alice and Cloid’s great-grandson, Jack Stephenson, Jr.

In 1996 the Lord moved miraculously in Jacky’s life, delivering him from addictions and restoring him back to Himself. Then, in 2010, Jacky became pastor. Pastor Jacky’s love for Jesus and people and his uncompromising faith is reaching others and changing lives.
